Grazing Tables For Events In Johannesburg

Styled and set up on site. Weddings, launches, functions and landmark birthdays.

Booked ahead, not same day. Minimum 3 working days.

A grazing table is what happens when a platter is not big enough. We build it on your table, at your venue, across Fourways, Bryanston, Sandton and Rosebank, styled to fill the space rather than portioned into boxes.

Cheeses, cured meats, breads, dips, fruit, preserves and sweet bites, arranged with the height, colour and abundance that makes people stop and photograph it before anyone touches it. We arrive early, set it up, and we are gone before your first guest walks in.

Grazing tables are priced per guest and quoted on enquiry, because the length of the table, the venue and the guest count all move the number. Send us your date and your headcount and we will come back with a quote.

Not sure whether you need a table or a set of platters? Send us the guest count and the occasion and we will tell you honestly which one suits, even when the answer is the cheaper one.

What a grazing table actually is

It is a full length spread built directly onto a table, rather than food arranged in boxes and carried in. That difference matters more than it sounds. A table is styled around the space it is in, with height and layering and the food running edge to edge, so it works as the centrepiece of a room instead of something set down on a side counter.

A standard table runs cheeses, cured meats, freshly baked breads and crackers, dips, fresh and dried fruit, preserves and caramelised figs, olives, pickled and roasted vegetables, and a sweet section to finish. We build the mix around your guests, the time of day and the occasion. A wedding table and a corporate launch table are not the same table.

We bring the serving ware, the props and the styling, set it up on site, and take our equipment away afterwards. You supply the table itself and the space it stands in. If your venue has a specific setup window or a restriction on when suppliers can access the room, tell us early and we will work to it.

Lead time, and why it is different from a platter

Our platters run on a 09:00 cut off for same day delivery. Grazing tables do not, and it would be dishonest to imply otherwise. A table means sourcing to a guest count, building to a length, and holding a setup slot in the day, so we need a minimum of 3 working days for a standard table and 5 working days for 100 guests and up.

Realistically, book earlier than the minimum. Saturdays in December, wedding season and the year end function stretch from late October onward all fill first, and we would rather turn a date down early than take it and stretch the kitchen thin.

If you need food sooner than that, our grazing boxes and platters are the better route. They feed 8 each, they are delivered same day if you order before 09:00, and lining up several of them across a table covers a surprising number of events.

Where we set up

We set up grazing tables across Fourways, Bryanston, Sandton and Rosebank and the surrounding suburbs, in homes, offices, function venues and event spaces. If your venue sits slightly outside that footprint, ask anyway. For an event booked with enough notice we can usually travel further than we do for a daily platter run.

Tell us the venue when you enquire. Access, parking, the setup window and whether there is a prep space available all affect how we plan the build, and knowing it upfront keeps the quote accurate rather than approximate.

What size table do I need?

Guest counts are a guide. The quote is built around your actual numbers, the venue and the time of day.

Grazing table questions we get asked

How far in advance do I need to book?

A minimum of 3 working days for a standard grazing table, and 5 working days for 100 guests and up. Book earlier than that where you can. December Saturdays, wedding season and the year end function period fill first.

Can I get a grazing table on the same day?

No. The 09:00 same day cut off applies to our platters and grazing boxes, not to tables. A table means sourcing to a guest count and holding a setup slot, so it needs a minimum of 3 working days. If you need food sooner, order platters instead.

How much does a grazing table cost?

Grazing tables are priced per guest and quoted on enquiry, because the guest count, the table length and the venue all move the number. Send us your date, your headcount and the venue and we will come back with a quote.

Do you set it up on site?

Yes. We bring the serving ware, props and styling, arrive early, build it on site and take our equipment away afterwards. You supply the table and the space. We aim to be finished and gone before your first guest arrives.

How many guests does a grazing table suit?

From about 24 guests upward. Below that, several of our platters lined up across a table usually works out better and costs less, and we will say so if you ask.

Which areas do you set up in?

Fourways, Bryanston, Sandton and Rosebank and the surrounding suburbs, in homes, offices and function venues. If your venue is slightly outside that, ask anyway. With enough notice we can usually travel further for an event than for a daily platter run.

Can you work around dietary requirements?

Yes. Tell us what you need when you enquire and we will build it into the table rather than adding a separate plate at the end. Let us know about any allergies at the same time.

Send us your date and your guest count.

We will come back with a quote, and we will tell you honestly if platters suit your event better.
